Sally Beauty Holdings was formed by the merger of two businesses, Sally and Salon Services, both selling hair & beauty products to the retail and trade markets, respectively. The new business suffered from some confusion, as it was now selling to both sets of customers, with differentiated pricing out of the same stores.

We developed new brand propositions for both the trade and retail markets, helping them clearly communicate to their different customer bases. Starting with both brands, Salon services (trade) and Sally (retail), we then updated all communication material both in store and out, to align to the differing propositions.



Our work covered everything from monthly magazines and trade flyers to store opening and event collateral, POS across all stores to own brand packaging design and rollout. It’s a fast-paced industry so being responsive was key, with very tight-deadlines and unplanned projects to deliver. Campaign creative followed a yearly plan that was presented to both commercial and marketing. Keeping this creative fresh alongside delivering all collateral was a challenge that we thrived on.
